I’ve been doing barbell club for a year now! First of all best decision I’ve made for myself! Second I’m amazed as to what I’m actually capable of doing… idk how many times I’ve laughed in my coaches face saying “I can’t do that!”. Then I end up doing it! I’m constantly learning, being pushed and getting stronger! It’s what I needed!

As an older female athlete, I often struggle with hip and back pain due to either overuse, mobility, or improper movement patterns—-more likely a combination of all three. Jordan was able to customize my programming to fit my desires to both lift heavier with better technique but also remain uninjured. He also made it a priority to ask about how my body was feeling and made adjustments to lifts or added accessory work. He truly understands how important lifting is to older athletes and their bodies but more importantly is invested in each every one of his customers and their well-being.

If I had too name my favorite one thing about low country barbell it would be the people. When you walk in you feel welcomed and familiar with people you don’t even know. Also the coaches are amazing and don’t just coach they find ways too help you that might be different for someone else.

In one year, I watched my child transition physically and psychologically. Jordan taught him about fortitude and consistency.
With Lowcountry Barbell, my son enjoys hanging at the gym with his “family“. He’s more confident in his skin than I have ever seen him. We are grateful and he is always looking forward to another day of programming. Pictures are from one year ago today, to the national stage where he is now number three in the country for his age/weight.
I’ve been active in the fitness world for about 3 years before I started with Jordan. I was familiar with the movements but there’s always room for growth as an athlete. He took the time to correct mechanics and form on my lifts. In just 6 months I PRd both of my lifts with him and my overall strength was hugely improved. He definitely cares about his athletes and it shows through his coaching. All of the coaches there. He’s very genuine and passionate in his coaching while making sure his athletes stay happy and healthy. 10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone who may be on the edge to trying weightlifting.

As a 56yr old want-to-be “athlete”, I have to admit that I am hard to impress and quick to judge. You have to earn my respect and Jordan, the owner/head coach at Lowcountry Barbell did that and continues to do that. So much so, when we moved from S.C. to KY…I still kept him as my lifting coach! He shoots straight, cares about each athlete and his work ethic is second to none! If you want to be YOUR best…. get THE best coach! Lowcountry Barbell Club

Hi everyone, my name is Jaimerius “JJ” Williams. I’m from Columbia, South Carolina. I started seriously lifting in my freshman year of high school for football. In my life I have torn my Left ACL three times playing football. Even though it was definitely a hard decision to make, I had to step away from football after my freshman year of college because I had transferred and also came to my senses that even though football was my first love, I needed to stop for the health of my ACL. Moving forward, I got introduced to powerlifting by one of my best friends who is also a powerlifter. I have always been a strong athlete playing football; so it was only right I give it a try. Ever since then, I have fell in love with this sport. Having the feeling of being and looking strong has always been my satisfaction in life, and powerlifting is definitely helping me with that. After my first powerlifting competition that happened in December of 2020, I joined the Lowcountry Barbell Club in January 2021 and is currently being coached by Jordan the owner of LBC. My progression has definitely excelled joining and continues to do so extremely. I also train for Olympic weightlifting as well; I was so interested in doing it because of watching others do it. It’s even awesome to me to train for two lifting sports. I want to be a high caliber athlete in both these sports, and having the LBC community around to support and train with will definitely be one of the benefactors in that.

For me, LBC has been a place where I found friendship & accountability, challenged outdated beliefs about my self worth/ability, gained confidence and of course learned lots! Love this crew!

For the last 2 years I have been working with Coach Jordan at Low Country Barbell. In that time I have gone from being new to the world of fitness with zero gym experience, to a strong, confident, and competitive athlete. The club is a welcoming and friendly community of members, varying in age and experience levels, who enthusiastically celebrate everyone’s accomplishments, not just their own. Experienced and knowledgeable coaches, an excellent community, and my love of weightlifting/functional fitness, all combine to make Low Country Barbell my club of choice to help me reach my goals.

When my son decided he was going to pursue college after military service first he knew that he would have much work to do in order to be physically prepared for the service. When he went to Jordan at Low Country Barbell they got straight to work and Jordan knew exactly what needed to be done to prepare him. The transformation that he went through in less than a years time was remarkable and not only physically but mentally. Jordan pushed and encouraged my son every step of the way and was there for him in and out of the gym. Jordan not only helped my son reach his goals he set him on a path with the knowledge of living a healthier life which he still is carrying with him while actively serving in the Army. We could never thank Jordan and Low Country Barbell club enough for his dedication and commitment to our son and his goals. We would highly recommend seeing Jordan no matter what your fitness level or fitness goals are. The man is beyond passionate about making people their best selves.
